Education:

2018 - Masterclass, hot start, cold finish with Louis Thompson and Anthony Scala at the Glass Hub glass school, Wiltshire.

2009 - Master Classes at Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Maine USA taking workshops with Susanne Joker Johnsen in Scandanavian techniques and with Marc Petrovic in hot glass sculpting.

2006 - 2008 Master of Design. Glass and Architectural Glass, Edinburgh College of Art. Scotland.

1998 - 2001  BA(hons) Ceramics with Glass, Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.

1996 - 1997  Foundation Course, Art and Design, Norwich School of Art and Design.

 

Professional Experience:

 

January 2016 - February 2020. to Ingrid Phillips at ECA for weekend glass blowing workshops.

Spring 2012 - Established the business, NutMeg Glass at my workshop in Leith in Edinburgh.

September 2011 - 2012 Artist in Residence, Edinburgh College of Art Glass Department.

May 2010 – Pilchuck Glass School, Washington state USA. Member of the Poleturners team.

February 2009 – February 2011. Artist in Residence in the Ceramics & Glass department at Bucks New University College, High Wycombe.

January 2008 - February 2020 - Freelance hot glass assistant to U.K. based studios, these include Simon Moore, Bideford, Devon, Kath Roberts,The Gatehouse Glassworks, Brecon. Wales. David Kaplin, Lindean Mill Glass, Scottish borders. Nikki Williams, Kinki Glass, Ironbridge, Shropshire and Elin Isaksson Glass, Alloa, Scotland.

October 2002 - April 2006. Glassmakers assistant to LoCo Glass Ltd, Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

June 2009 - February 2011. Member of Commercial Square studios in High Wycombe, a co-operative artist group of 17 studios.

Summers of 2004 – 08 Spent at Dartington Crystal Factory, Devon as part of their designer maker workshop programme by invitation of Hilary Green and Sarah Peterson.

2007 – Assisted Keiko Mukiade with the making of her installation ‘Memory of a Place’ for St Mary’s Church, York.
